Our Story

Hi, I'm Doron

The founder of ANML. You might be wondering — why make moisturizer out of beef tallow? Fair question.

The Beginning

It Started With Food

It all started during the pandemic, when like many of us, I became hyper-aware of my own health. I was dealing with a variety of health issues that became more pronounced in isolation. While I worked with conventional and functional doctors, I also started experimenting with my daily habits to see how I could feel better.

It began with diet. At one point, I was eating takeout nearly every day. I noticed that after most meals, I felt nauseous, anxious, and off. That led me down a rabbit hole about processed food and seed oils. Eventually, I tried the carnivore diet — and surprisingly, it worked. My digestion improved, and even my sleep and anxiety got better.

The Realization

From Food Labels to Ingredient Lists

While carnivore wasn't sustainable for me long-term, I transitioned to an animal-based way of eating — hence the name: ANML. I now focus on nutrient-dense, high-quality foods: grass-fed, regenerative, organic when possible. Yes, I drink raw milk and eat raw cheese. Yes, I read every ingredient label.

That obsession with clean ingredients didn't stop at food. It made me question every product I was putting on my body, too: toothpaste, soap, moisturizer. One day I looked at my bottle of Kiehl's — a product I trusted because it was at Equinox and carried a luxury price tag. But the ingredient list told a different story: dozens of unrecognizable chemicals, and yes, seed oils.

The Search

So I Made My Own

I started researching natural alternatives and discovered tallow balms. I ordered everything I could find. Most were disappointing. Some had mystery "essential oil blends," others were overly hard or too oily, some just smelled bad. Many weren't even made with grass-fed tallow, and few used suet — the most nutrient-dense part.

So I made my own. It had to meet the same standards I hold for food: grass-fed and finished, made from suet not trim, no unnecessary ingredients, no plastic packaging, and never made or sourced from China.

After months of testing, tweaking, and yes — trying honey, olive oil, no-whip versions, and more — I landed on the formula we sell today.
